Staying home while lockdown measures are in place.
We have all had to get use to a new kind of normal during this pandemic. Our Government have put measures in place to reduce the spread of Covid-19, and requested that we stay home to stay safe. We are allowed to be outside for some daily exercise and during this time I have utilised this to offer people snapshots in their doorways to remember their time of staying home.
It wasn’t something I set out to do, but somebody contacted me to ask if I might be doing them in the area after seeing a photographer in another town doing them. I initially had my reservations, as I am primarily a newborn photographer working in the controlled environment of my Aylesbury studio. However, I opened the idea publicly to form a list of households in that area, and had my first walk around the estate documenting this time for families.
These are a few from day 1.
After completing day 1 of doorstep snapshots, it surprised me to feel such a connection to the cause. I didn’t expect to feel such a sense of achievement in what I was able to offer people during this time; a memory to add to their scrapbooks of lockdown. I felt that what I was doing was really special. So I set out to offer more areas in Aylesbury, Bucks. I now have 3 areas completed, and 4 more to head to over the next 2 weeks. Keep up to date with areas to visit via my Facebook page.
If you live locally and would like a doorstep snapshot, please pop me a message to see if I am covering your area. I would love to meet you and document this pandemic in a positive light.
Here are a few more to enjoy from my walking travels.
